Don’t miss artist Jakub Dolejš’ opening on May 25th at Angell Gallery in Toronto.

The exhibit entitled Tribune is a solo show featuring Jakub’s re-creation of Johan Zoffany’s 1770’s painting of the Tribune at Uffizi. The work was created with generous support from the Canada Council who awarded Jakub with a 3 month studio residency in Paris.

The show will be at Angell Gallery until June 17.

NO INSIGNIFICANT PART

We recently finished this cover design for Wilfrid Laurier University Press’ book No Insignificant Part by Timothy J. Stapleton.

No Insignificant Part: The Rhodesia Native Regiment and the East Africa Campaign of the First World War is the first history of the only primarily African military unit from Zimbabwe to fight in the First World War.

Although it remained in the field longer than all-white units and some of its members received some of Britain’s highest decorations, the Rhodesia Native Regiment was quickly disbanded after the war and conveniently forgotten by the colonial establishment. Southern Rhodesia’s white settler minority, partly on the strength of its wartime sacrifice, was given political control of the territory through a racially exclusive form of self-government, but black rnr veterans received little support or recognition.

SOCIAL POLICY AND PRACTICE IN CANADA

This winter we designed the cover and interior for Wilfrid Laurier University Press’ book Social Policy and Practice in Canada by Alvin Finkel.

Social Policy and Practice in Canada: A History traces the history of social policy in Canada from the period of First Nations’ control to the present day, exploring the various ways in which residents of the area known today as Canada have organized themselves to deal with (or to ignore) the needs of the ill, the poor, the elderly, and the young.

This book is the first synthesis on social policy in Canada to provide a critical perspective on the evolution of social policy in the country.

DRIVEWAY IMPRESSIONS CARE AND MAINTENANCE BROCHURE

Driveway Impressions is the residential division of IPC, the proprietors of a technology that creates the look of hand laid pavers from stamped and coated asphalt. Driveway Impressions installations are easily maintained and repaired and are much less costly than pavers.

We recently created a customer care kit for new owners of Driveway Impressions installations. We designed a box which contains everything a customer needs to do small touch-ups on their newly installed driveways; a paint brush, two cans of coating with application instructions and a copy of the customer care and maintenance sheet pictured above.
